Crystal Rock Potpourri is a semi-porous mineral crystal that varies in size to add to the decorative appeal. These crystals will absorb essential oil, or oil based fragrance, oil based color and glycerin. They will retain the fragrance for up to six weeks depending on the temperature and air exposure. They can be heated in a potpourri dish (for strong fragrance throw) or left at room temperture to gently fragrance a room. To add custom color and fragrance choose a essential oil, or oil based fragrance and oil based color. Glycerin can be added to increase the sheen. For best results, spread the crystal rocks on a flat surface protected by foil or plastic. Mix your fragrance and color together. Note: You can add up to 30% glycerin by weight, as a percentage of the color fragrance mixture, to retard evaporation and to add sheen. Using a pump sprayer, mist the crystal rock potpourri until the desired fragrance and color level are acheived. You will use approximately 1/4 to 1/2 ounce of fragrance and color to a pound of crystal rocks. If you do not have a pump sprayer, you can add the color, fragrance and glycerin by shaking the crystal rock potpourri and mixture in a durable zip lock bag. This is also a good way to refresh the crystal rocks fragrance after approximately six weeks of exposure. Note: If the fragrance throw weakens before six weeks...shake the crystals in a zip lock bag vigerously for 20 to 30 seconds. |
